Born in 1972, Jason Myers has been a practicing Witch since the 1980s, vegan since the 1990s, and a priest of the Salem, Massachusetts-based Cabot tradition of witchcraft since 2021.

He lives in a 126-year-old cottage in the Appalachian foothills of southwestern Pennsylvania with his black cats, Midnite and Sebastian. When not writing music, spells, or press releases, myers works with rescue animals at Misfits Coven, a Pagan-owned Nonprofit farm Sanctuary. 

Jason Myers is a musician, occult practitioner, writer, and animal advocate best known as the bassist and co-founder of the pagan traditional metal band Icarus Witch. Since 2004, the band has recorded and toured internationally, collaborating with legendary artists from Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, and Rainbow. They’ve earned recognition from outlets like Decibel Magazine, Germany’s Deaf Forever, and Canada’s BraveWords, which named them one of Pennsylvania’s top three metal acts.

Jason is a widely published voice on the occult, music, and public relations, having been featured in Guitar World, SPIN, HuffPost, Inc., Business Insider, as well as spiritual outlets like Witches & Pagans, WITCHES Magazine, The Occult Unveiled, and even animal-centric publications like Chewy. A lifelong practitioner of divination, he is a certified psychic tarot reader trained by the Official Witch of Salem, Laurie Cabot, and offers readings professionally as Scryer Myers.

A dedicated vegan since the 1990s, Jason combines his spiritual path with activism, believing both disciplines operate best when striving to harm none. He serves on the board of the Misfits Coven Animal Sanctuary near the PA/West Virginia border. In addition to rescuing and caring for at-risk animals, he and the non-profit’s founder, Britt Menhart, also participate in environmental cleanup projects with Allegheny CleanWays and Myers’ own Litter Wizards organization. While Myers comes from a scientific family and Menhart’s degree is in biology, the team’s practice also weaves together folk remedies, land-based spirituality, and compassionate, sustainable living in the Appalachian region.

Jason is currently writing his first book on the intersection of plant-based living and nature-based spirituality. His work and practice have earned him recognition as a modern voice in contemporary witchcraft, including being featured on the cover of Tamara Von Forslun’s new book, Witch and Pagan Elders of the 21st Century: Present and Future, and being inducted into the Buckland Museum of Witchcraft & Magick in his native Ohio.

Myers reputation as a public speaker is on the rise too, as he was featured on the “Witches After Dark” panel at the world-famous Comic Con in both New York City and San Diego alongside prominent occult influencers, The Good Witch of Hollywood, Patti Negri, NYC WitchFest founder Starr Ann RavenHawk, The Glam Witch, Michael Herkes, and best-selling Simon & Schuster author, Judy Ann Nock.

The eco-friendly values Myers practices within his trad craft work are mirrored in his professional career as a PR executive, where he’s managed sustainable marketing campaigns for billion-dollar brands and socially-conscious startups. He enjoys utilizing his business acumen, his background in entertainment, and his lifelong study of esoteric knowledge to help others develop their potential for the good of all. As the Cabot tradition states,
